1965 London Concerts (evans Bill) This 1965 London concert of the Bill Evans Trio was recorded as a single performance to be broadcast as two shows in the BBC ‘Jazz On 625’ television series. The repertoire is a mixture of Evans originals, American songbook titles and modern material including the Newley-Bricusse Who Can I turn To ? and Miles Davis’ beautiful Nardis - a tune he himself curiously never recorded. South Sydney Rabbitohs Premiers 1967 - 1968 (nrl Premiers) When the mighty St George era ended with their world record eleventh straight premiership in 1966, it was a case of 'the king is dead - long live the king!' The changing of the guard in Australian Rugby League saw South Sydney take over as worthy champions when they claimed the first of four premierships in the space of five years. After their young side finished as runner-up in 1965 they showed the benefits of that experience two years later when they edged out Canterbury to earn the J.J. Giltinan Shield for the first time in 12 years- thanks to Bob McCarthy's famous intercept- and they retained the title twelve months later by resisting Manly's challenge. Now for the first time on DVD are both of those remarkable Rabbitohs triumphs which show just why they are known as 'The Pride of the League'. Dedicated to Peter Frillingos; a man who loved Rugby League and South Sydney. Review this product + Add to my saved list |
