In the Colony, a scavenging alien race moves from planet to planet consuming natural resources while enslaving the indigenous populations. Led by Harper, the aliens send an advanced scouting unit, who assume human form to study Earth's inhabitants. They randomly abduct four humans to test their mind control techniques. If the aliens fail to control the human race, then everyone will be killed to enable free access to strip Earth of its raw materials. The aliens are baffled as to why humans are immune to their mind control. Harper's blood-thirsty commrades threaten to proceed with various lethal experiments on their captives, while Harper starts to feel protective toward them. When the aliens don't count on the resourcefulness of the human prisoners and their determination to save each other. Humans will, determination and ingenuity is tested as the group fights for survival of the planet.
