EastSide Story is about Diego - a closeted young Latino who helps his grand-mother run the family restaurant while carrying on a clandestine relationship with equally-closeted Pablo. Diego has long felt trapped by the conservative culture of East LA and plans to move away with his lover. But Prince Charming is not the man he expected. A light-hearted “coming out” story that avoids all the tired clichés, East Side Story examines bias of all kinds, and features stirring performances by incredibly attractive actors. It appeals to the romantic impulses in all of us: gay, straight and somewhere in between.

Eastside - A Skateboard Jorney To Asia and Beyond Set in China, Hong Kong & Taiwan, East Side explores skateboarding and it’s powerful influence on youth culture in Asia. The World of the Asian underground is one that’s typically hidden from the eyes of the west, but through this 16mm film, we are allowed an unprecedented sneak peak by following the lives and travels of three professional skateboarders on tour there; old school legend Kien Lieu, newschooler Satva Leung, and Canadian Todd Tessier. Just as East Side’s storyline mixes Western & Eastern elements, the aesthetic of the film is hybridised as well. Each of the pros makes a journey from the West to the East, and each of their lives are changed forever. The film combines the character development of classic sports documentaries with the extreme-sport action of underground skate-videos. However, East Side is also a descendent of the underground “skate vid”, bought & sold exclusively in skateboard shops.
