Action

In the midst of war, one man vanished into the jungle, and emerged as king! Nick Nolte (Cape Fear) stars as Learoyd, a renegade US soldier who escapes execution by the Japanese during WWII and flees deep into the jungles of Borneo where he becomes an all-powerful tribal king. Like Marlon Brando's Kurtz in Apocalypse Now (John Milius wrote the screenplay for both films), Nolte's Leoroyd rules happily over his jungle utopia until discovered by a group of commandos- led by Nigel Havers (Empire Of The Sun). Determined to protect the innocence of his people, Learoyd rejects attempts to enlist his tribesman in the war against the Japanese; however, when his village is finally attacked, "The King", in true Rambo style, embarks on a vengeful trail of destruction. Featuring an all-star cast and crew including Nick Nolte (Cape Fear, The Thin Red Line) and Nigel Hvers (The Life & Death of Peter Sellers). Written and Directed by John Milius (Apocalypse Now, Conan The Barbarian). Never before released on DVD, this classic action film will appeal to fans of Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now.
