Presenter Toby Amies hooks up with fixer Flacco who gains him entree to a rehearsal for an Afro-Cuban Santeria rite and a seat in the bleachers at a rollicking Havana rodeo. Street photographer Leslie Sinclair takes Toby on a photographic assignment in the city’s cramped camel buses. Surreal artist Damian Aquiles invites Toby to witness how Cubans celebrate the coming-of-age of their daughters by inviting him to his home town to experience a quinze. Toby wangles his way into the studio of hip-hop producer Pablo Herrera to find out why Cubans have had enough of the Buena Vista Social Club and are now fusing traditional Latin rhythms with American hip hop beats. Enjoying the Havana high life at a Cuban fashion show, Toby falls head over heels for actress Yoan-dra Suarez. After going to a concert of Havana’s hip-hop finest, Toby has a disastrous encounter with Yoandra on the set of her latest film. Nury takes Toby to a high society costume party, where he masquerades as a colonial prig and scores an invite from designer William Tang to celebrate the Chung Yueng Festival. Davena introduces Toby to Hong Kong movie producer Bey Logan to bring his martial arts fantasy to life, and Bey puts Toby in touch with marine police officer Tim Worrell - the man with the fastest boat in town bar none - for some high speed thrills on the high seas. Toby meets Hong Kong's Dr Doolittle, Su Burnett, at a workshop for troubled dogs, and then joins artist Amy Cheung for a little mischief with a life-size sculpture of a Hong Kong cab.Toby gets his just desserts in a classic rooftop martial arts finale. Rock climber Yuen Li gets Asha to face her fear of heights on the cliffs of Batu Caves and calms her down in a hotspring in a monsoonal downpour. Asha meets food critic Matt Preston who shows her the three things that really make Melbourne tick - good coffee, good food and Australian Rules Football - and Shanaka takes Asha to Footscray where she meets volunteer worker and social saint Akon Deng Shok.
